Runner’s Food Journal No. 6

Athletes sometimes ask for nutritional guidance or just want to know what I eat during a regular day. Below is a food journal from a typical Monday:

MORNING

Two mugs of black coffee

Toast (Dave’s killer bread) with crunchy peanut butter and apple butter

Activity #1 - 7 mile recovery run

siggi’s nonfat vanilla skyr with Bob’s Red Mill old country muesli

Mug of black coffee

AFTERNOON

Spinach salad with carrots, broccoli, and low-fat caesar dressing

Total cereal with 2% milk and flax seeds

Beet juice (RW Knudsen no sugar added)

Activity #2 - Coach high school cross country practice

Apple with crunchy peanut butter

EVENING

Burritos with black beans, white rice, cheddar cheese, diced tomato, low fat sour cream
