Runner’s Food Journal No. 1

Athletes sometimes ask for nutritional guidance or just want to know what I eat during a regular day. Below is a food journal from a typical weekday:

MORNING

Two mugs of black coffee

Activity #1 - 1.5 mile dog walk

Slice of Dave’s Killer Bread (21 Whole Grains & Seeds) with Crazy Richard’s crunchy peanut butter and honey.

Activity #2 - 35KM BikeErg workout

Bowl of Total cereal with 2% milk and spoonful of flax seeds

AFTERNOON (salad and snacks spaced out)

Salad of baby spinach, broccoli, carrots, Ken’s lite creamy caesar dressing

Banana

Handfuls of homemade trail mix (almonds, pumpkin seeds, golden raisins, roasted edamame)

Mug of black coffee

Activity # 3 - 3 mile run before coaching track practice

Orange

EVENING

Leftover night for dinner - Bison chili with ditalini. Slice of bread with peanut butter.
